Premiums are quoted on request, so this is a curated market midpoint, not a public engine quote.
Notes
Residents are covered by mandatory public health insurance (CASS/CNAS); private cover is optional. Many buy only a cheaper outpatient medical subscription (abonament, ~150–250 RON/mo) and use the public system for hospital care. Method
Mean of the three reporting RNMCA reference-grade urban stations in Bucharest, 2024 annual PM2.5 means (APMB, 2024): Cercul Militar Național 14.12, Drumul Taberei 12.1, Lacul Morii 18.9 µg/m³ → mean ≈ 15.0 µg/m³. RNMCA (Rețeaua Națională de Monitorizare a Calității Aerului) is the official national reference network; APMB is the Bucharest environmental agency. Figures read from the Ecopolis/Platforma de Mediu 2024 report, which reproduces the APMB station values.
Notes
Reference-grade RNMCA stations read 12–19 µg/m³ (2024), all below the EU limit (25) but 2–4× the WHO 2021 guideline (5) and above the 2030 EU limit (10). The separate municipal low-cost sensor network (rețeaua PMB) reported a higher city average of 25.3 µg/m³ — those sensors are not reference-grade and are not used here. Historic single-year values: ~18.4 µg/m³ (2019, WHO/IQAir). Winter heating and traffic are the main sources; summers are cleaner. The EEA city viewer value could not be read (JavaScript-only tool); this uses the national reference network instead, per the criterion's allowed fallback.

Method
Validated (E1a, verification flag 1) 2022 annual mean at station RO0194A "TM-2", an urban background site of the national network at 45.7547°N 21.2349°E, 0.7 km from the city centre: 12.584197 µg/m³ on 86.85% data coverage, queried from the EEA statistics service on 2026-09-24. The WHO Ambient Air Quality Database v8.0 (2026) carries the same 12.58 µg/m³ for Timisoara/ROU in 2022 at 87% coverage, so the two are one measurement. 2022 is the latest year with a usable PM2.5 annual mean for the city: the database's Timișoara rows for 2023 and 2024 carry no PM2.5 value, and the 2025 reading at the same station (13.29) rests on 23% coverage.
Notes
OLDER AND THINNER than the other Romanian cities here, which use 2024. One station, and coverage of 86.85% sits below the EU's 90% data-quality objective — as do the figures published for Lisbon, Porto and İzmir in this dataset. The series has no clear trend: 14.15 µg/m³ in 2021 (76% coverage), 12.58 in 2022; the 2013–2019 values in the WHO database run from 9.98 to 21.49, most of them on coverage below 90%. Lower than Cluj-Napoca (16.5 in 2024) and Brașov (14.0 in 2024), about 2.5× the WHO 2021 guideline of 5 µg/m³, and above the EU limit of 10 that applies from 2030.

Notes
±2 uncertainty. The official IB 'Find an IB School' finder (RO) is bot-walled (HTTP 403), so the IB set was assembled from the IB Yearbook (ibyb.org), individual ibo.org school pages, and an IB-finder-mirroring database; the French (AEFE) and German (ZfA) schools are verified against those accreditors directly. CIS/COBIS-only schools (e.g. ISB is also CIS) are not double-counted. Excludes purely local bilingual schools without one of the recognized international accreditations.

Notes
VERIFIED FLOOR, ±1. No second full international school in Timișoara could be confirmed against an accreditor: the IB's country listing cannot be read (blocked, and not archived), Cambridge International's school finder renders its results only in a browser, the AEFE network's only Romanian location is Bucharest, and Germany's only recognised school abroad in Romania is the Deutsche Schule Bukarest. Method
Comprehensive private health plans that include hospitalization and surgery (outpatient + inpatient): Signal Iduna 360 Care starts 380 RON/mo, with a stated 34-year-old example at 424 RON/mo; premium all-inclusive tiers (Groupama, Regina Maria, MedLife/Medicover subscriptions with hospital cover) run up to ~650 RON/mo. Healthy-35-year-old midpoint ≈ 460 RON/mo ≈ 5,520 RON/yr ≈ $1,200; recorded $1,250 (range ≈ $1,000–$1,700 at 4.59 RON/USD).
This figure is the with-inpatient comprehensive tier, chosen to be comparable with other countries' comprehensive plans.

Storia's January 2026 average asking rents for Timișoara by room count, read in the primary Storia newsroom post on 2026-09-24: garsonieră (studio) €300, 2 camere (our 1-bedroom) €430, 3 camere (our 2-bedroom) €500 — the same post and the same room convention already used for Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. Converted at the ECB reference rate in data/fx-rates.json (EUR 1 = USD 1.1534, 2026-08-13): $346 / $496 / $577. Year on year, Storia puts studios up 15% — the largest rise among the cities it analysed — and 2 camere up 1%.
Notes
FLAT BY LOCATION. Storia publishes one city-wide average per room count and no district split for Timișoara, so the centre and outside-centre columns carry the same number; they are not two observations. The one neighbourhood-level figure found in print, an Imobiliare.ro breakdown reproduced by the local press, averages all apartment sizes together and so measures each area's housing mix as much as its location, and the reproduction contradicts itself on the 2-room figure — it is not used. No 3-bedroom row: Storia's analysis stops at 3 camere. Romanian rents are quoted in euros.
