About SettleMetric
SettleMetric compares countries and cities for people who work remotely: taxes and special tax regimes, legalization paths, cost of living, housing, safety, climate, healthcare, internet and more. The goal is simple — give the fullest, most honest picture of a place so a relocation decision rests on facts, not marketing.
Our principles
- Every fact carries a source and a verification date. There is an official source or open dataset behind each number, so you can check it yourself.
- Taxes and laws come only from official government sources — tax authorities, immigration services, official gazettes. News and blogs may point us to a source, but never replace it.
- Honest gaps beat guesses. When we can't verify something, we mark it as missing and explain why, instead of inventing a number.
- The score is transparent and secondary. The full methodology is public, and the underlying facts always matter more than any single number.
- No paywall on the data.
